Description
This SBIR topic seeks research and development of a single, portable, integrated platform capable of providing autonomous extracorporeal life support in austere and operational settings. The proposed system should address sustained resuscitative care following severe trauma, including cardiovascular support for hypotension and hemorrhage, respiratory support through extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, and potential renal replacement therapy and extracorporeal blood purification. The concept may also incorporate automated venous access assistance, oxygenation management, hemodynamic control, sedation, analgesia, and renal replacement functions. The objective is to combine these capabilities into an integrated ICU-level intervention and delivery platform that can operate with limited access to definitive medical care and reduced reliance on highly trained operators.
