Description
The Military Sealift Command (MSC), Service Ships Support Program Office, PM42, is requesting information regarding a U.S. flag, Jones Act compliant vessel. This vessel will be utilized for general ocean towing, salvage, and deep sub-surface rescue operations in coastal and deep ocean areas, including unique Navy deep submergence rescue operations. The vessel will be homeported in Virginia Beach, Virginia, with the berth provided by the government. Operations are expected along the East/Gulf Coast of the United States and the North Atlantic Ocean. Key requirements for the vessel include a minimum bollard pull of 130 tons, dual towing winches, a crane with a minimum 30,000-pound lifting capacity, and at least 5,000 square feet of deck space. It must also have Dynamic Positioning (DP-2) or equivalent capabilities and be equipped for off-ship firefighting. Accommodations for 40 transient personnel are required to support diving, salvage, and sub-surface rescue operations. The period of performance includes a base period of 366 days starting August 2, 2027, with four option periods extending through July 2, 2032.
