Description
The U.S. Air Force is conducting market research to identify potential sources capable of providing sustainment and support for the AN/ASQ-230 system installed on U-2 aircraft. This includes depot-level repair, full depot sustainment, and technical reach-back support for all unique hardware and software components. The contractor will be responsible for total material management of all associated unique hardware and consumable components, requiring certification as a Contractor-Inventory-Control Point (C-ICP). The AN/ASQ-230 is a remotely operated system designed to detect, locate, identify, and analyze non-communication and communication emitters with real-time encryption. The future contract is expected to include engineering support, repair of spare assets, resolution of system failures, and mitigation of obsolescence issues. The original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and sole source for the U-2 ASQ-230 is Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation.
