Douglas County is soliciting proposals from a site contractor to construct approximately 1,500 linear feet of eight-foot fencing along Chicago Avenue at the DOT Maintenance Complex, including two twenty-foot motorized gate systems for the employee and truck entrances. The new fence will be installed in the location of the existing fence. Douglas County will handle demolition of the existing fence, trees, and debris, as well as installation of power, access control, and Knox Boxes for both gates. The project must comply with applicable state and federal requirements and SPLOST rules. The performance period is 60 consecutive calendar days after the contract becomes effective, with liquidated damages of $150 per day for late substantial completion. A mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for October 1, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time.
