Description
The City of South Padre Island is soliciting bids for reconstruction of W. Sunset Drive, E. Capricorn Drive, W. Esperanza Street, E. Gardenia Street, W. Acapulco Street, and W. Marlin Street. The work includes removal and replacement of asphalt pavement, crushed limestone base, cement-stabilized subgrade, concrete driveways, sidewalks, valley gutters, curbs and gutters, pedestrian ramps, inlets, storm drainage pipe, utility adjustments, signs, speed humps, pavers, fences, landscaping, excavation, embankment, erosion controls, traffic handling, and mobilization. Bidders must submit the provided Contractor's Proposal, Contractor's Experience and Qualifications information, references, Certification and Acknowledgment, and bid security. A bid bond or certified/cashier's check of at least 5 percent of the total bid is required; the successful bidder must provide payment and performance bonds in the contract amount and required insurance. The bidder must state the total calendar days to substantial completion; the contract provides for 90 calendar days to substantial completion and 30 calendar days to final completion. The mandatory pre-bid meeting includes a project-site walkthrough, and the project requires maintaining property access and complying with traffic-control, erosion-control, prevailing-wage, and applicable construction requirements.
