Description
The City of Modesto is soliciting bids for a Clean California-funded public-works project to repair and refurbish an existing downtown alley. The scope includes demolition and site preparation; concrete paving, permeable pavers, asphalt patching, concrete bands and valley gutters; storm-drain and sanitary-sewer improvements; utility boxes and cleanouts; erosion and sediment control; temporary traffic control; and monument and tree protection. The project also includes six precast concrete benches, a custom CMU trash enclosure with metal roof, an arch structure with footings and structural shop drawings, planter-wall repair and painting, signage, striping, an architectural arch lighting system, and site electrical work. Prevailing wages, Buy America requirements, federal-aid DBE provisions, and applicable contractor licensing and registration requirements apply. The estimated bid value is $1,500,000, the estimated start is February 2027, and the work must be completed within 98 working days from the contract start date. Addendum No. 1 updates the federal-aid DBE contract-language exhibit, and the Q&A clarifies that decorative DG mulch means decomposed granite with stabilizer.
