Description
The New York City Office of Technology & Innovation and Mayor’s Office of Operations are conducting a Request for Information to assess the feasibility of using emerging ground-scanning and other non-invasive technologies to create a more complete and accurate picture of underground infrastructure. The effort may cover all five boroughs and assets such as water and sewer pipes, gas lines, electrical conduits, fiber-optic cables, abandoned assets, vaults, voids, and soil conditions. Responders are asked to describe deployable technologies, expected reading depths and limitations, large-scale data collection on streets and sidewalks, data processing and delivery formats, anticipated turnaround times, and methods for reconciling collected information with utility records. Responses will inform the potential development of the City’s secure 3D Underground data-sharing platform and possible future procurement, but this RFI does not itself award a contract or create a contractual relationship. A cover letter and concise description of the responding entity are required; written responses have no page limit.
