Description
This opportunity is for companies interested in licensing RELAP5-3D, a comprehensive system-level modeling code for simulating nuclear power plants and other complex thermal-fluid systems. The software supports detailed modeling of multiphase flow, heat transfer, reactor kinetics, and fluid-structure interactions, enabling high-fidelity simulations for a wide range of operating and accident scenarios. RELAP5-3D offers advanced capabilities including single- and two-phase flow modeling, support for multiple fluids and flow regimes, built-in reactor kinetics and neutron transport models, coupled heat structures and control system modeling, and parallel processing. It can be integrated with external tools for fuel performance, CFD, or systems-level co-simulation. Key advantages include its comprehensive simulation capabilities, multidimensional modeling (1D, 2D, and 3D), built-in neutronics, high fidelity, flexibility, interoperable framework, and regulatory acceptance. This is a licensing opportunity only, focused on connecting companies with INL's intellectual property to bring technologies to market.
