Description
The City of Somerville Department of Public Works is soliciting vendors to supply ready-mix concrete meeting MassDOT specifications. Required products include 4,000-psi concrete with 3/8-inch and 3/4-inch aggregate, with High Early Strength Concrete available when required by weather conditions. Vendors may provide delivery to designated work locations or allow pickup by City trucks; pickup vendors must be within four driving miles of 1 Franey Road, Somerville, Massachusetts. Delivery orders will generally be placed at least 48 hours in advance, and vendors must provide delivery or pickup documentation with each order. Estimated quantities are provided for pricing purposes and are not guaranteed. The bid includes delivery and pickup pricing for three annual periods, with two optional renewal years identified in the solicitation. The contract requires compliance with Massachusetts prevailing-wage requirements for delivery services, a 5% bid deposit, and submission of the specified bid forms and certifications. Bids may be submitted through BidExpress or as one sealed package delivered to City Hall; email submission is not acceptable.
