Description
The City of Fort Myers intends to negotiate a sole-source contract with Xylem Water Solutions, U.S.A., Inc., Flygt Products, for Flygt lift station pumps, original-equipment spare parts, and repair and warranty services. The scope specifically identifies the proprietary Flygt 4901 Mix Flush Valve, part number 5565101, and states that Xylem is the only authorized Flygt vendor and service repair and warranty organization in the relevant portion of Florida. The city operates 207 lift stations, approximately 95% of which use Flygt pumps. Failed pumps may be rebuilt, but a new pump is purchased when the repair estimate exceeds 50%; new pumps include a three-year warranty, while rebuilt pumps do not.
