Description
The Village of Coal City is soliciting sealed bids for installation of a 200 kW natural-gas standby generator for Well 7. The scope includes the generator set, automatic transfer switches, concrete and other site work, electrical distribution and wiring, plumbing and process piping, instrumentation and controls, excavation, trenching, aggregate work, erosion and sedimentation controls, landscaping, testing, startup, and owner training. The project specifies Cummins equipment as the basis of design, with a Cummins standby generator rated at not less than 200 kW and associated transfer-switch equipment. The contractor must provide a full-time on-site superintendent, perform at least 40% of the required labor, furnish a 5% bid bond or certified check, and provide performance and payment bonds each equal to the contract price after award. Work must be substantially complete by May 14, 2027, and ready for final payment by June 4, 2027; liquidated damages are $500 per calendar day for failure to meet either date. The project is subject to Illinois prevailing-wage, Illinois steel-products, and Illinois-worker requirements.
