Description
San Juan County is soliciting bids for a nonexclusive price agreement to furnish and deliver roadway ice melter/chemical deicer on an as-needed basis. The estimated quantity is 250 tons over a 12-month period, with a primary one-year term and up to three additional one-year renewal terms. The County does not guarantee a minimum purchase and may make single- or multiple-source awards. The requested product is Ice Slicer Elite Granular Ice Melt or an equal complex-chloride deicer containing sodium, potassium, magnesium, and calcium chloride with corrosion inhibition. Products must meet specified corrosion-effectiveness, moisture, insoluble-residue, temperature, and gradation requirements, and must not cake when mixed with sand or cinders or stored outdoors. Bidders must provide descriptive literature, detailed product specification sheets, a Safety Data Sheet, manufacturer-recommended application rates, and storage recommendations. Delivery is to the San Juan County Public Works yard, and the bid requires one sealed original submission; emailed bids are not accepted.
