Description
This project involves the reconstruction of alleys, including sewers, subgrade, and pavement, utilizing recycled construction materials. The scope of work encompasses full-depth alley pavement reconstruction, proper handling and disposal of onsite materials, portland cement concrete base course, hot-mix asphalt surface course, sewer and drainage structures, sewer cleaning and televising, vortex restrictors, concrete curb and gutter, concrete sidewalks and ADA ramps, concrete driveways, concrete garage aprons, and permeable concrete block pavers. Key requirements include the preparation of a Phasing and Logistics Plan within 30 days of the Notice to Proceed. Critical submittals, such as sewer and drainage structures and pavers, must also be provided within 30 days of the Notice to Proceed. Construction work at each alley location must be completed within 45 calendar days for alleys without concrete block pavers, and 60 days for alleys with concrete block pavers. The project is funded by the City of Chicago - Department of Transportation (CDOT) and is divided into four project numbers: #22951, #22952, #22953, and #22954, located in Wards 4 and 11.
