Description
Larimer County is requesting quotations from qualified grazing operators for a livestock grazing lease at Red Mountain Open Space (RMOS). The initial lease term is five years beginning January 1, 2027, with an additional five-year extension option. The selected lessee will manage livestock grazing under annual grazing plans to support ecological and habitat objectives, including protection of soil, water, vegetation, and wildlife resources. The lease covers approximately 16,819 acres with multiple pastures, water sources, fencing, and related facilities. The lessee will be responsible for livestock management, maintaining fences, gates, watering facilities, and other grazing-related improvements, controlling noxious weeds, maintaining livestock records, complying with county regulations and management plans, and coordinating with county staff. Quotes must propose a grazing fee of at least $26.00 per Animal Unit Month (AUM). The solicitation evaluates the proposed grazing plan, livestock and range-management knowledge, operational capability, care of the premises, proposed fee, and service needs. Required submissions include the completed Quote Form and references.
