Description
The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services is seeking applications from eligible local municipal police and sheriff's agencies for projects supporting Extreme Risk Protection Order (ERPO) infrastructure and implementation. Eligible activities may include ERPO policy and protocol development, officer and civilian training, ERPO coordinator or legal support staff, data tracking, secure firearm storage, mobile crisis or behavioral-health collaboration, community engagement, awareness campaigns, and related equipment, supplies, travel, and consultant services. Approximately $19.5 million is available, with individual awards capped at $1.5 million per agency for a 36-month contract period beginning April 1, 2027, plus two optional one-year terms. Applications must address the applicant's need, project plan, implementation approach, budget, partnerships, data collection, and anticipated outcomes. The application requires narrative responses, a line-item budget, and supporting attachments submitted through the DCJS Grants Management System.
