Description
The University of Virginia is seeking a qualified architectural and engineering consultant team to design the adaptive reuse of its existing 40-bed, 68,000-square-foot Transitional Care Hospital for inpatient behavioral health services. The scope includes interior renovations, security and support-service modifications, semi-private and private inpatient rooms, additional inpatient beds, electroconvulsive therapy functions, support services across all levels, outdoor-space evaluation, infrastructure and spatial analysis, and code review. Existing imaging services on the first floor must remain operational during construction. Firms must demonstrate comparable higher-education project experience, design excellence, experience with complex facilities, LEED certification experience, and familiarity with the UVA Higher Education Capital Outlay Manual. The initial submission is a qualifications package; shortlisted firms will later receive a detailed RFP and be invited to provide a more detailed proposal and oral presentation. The submission must include a letter of interest, the OCAS Statement of Qualifications form, representative project images, AE-1 through AE-6 forms, and current references and contact information for at least five projects.
