CITY OF YAKIMA MUNICIPAL ENGINEERING SERVICES REQUEST FOR STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS The City of Yakima is inviting Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) from firms interested in providing professional engineering design and surveying (as needed) services for the following project: Longfibre Road and Washington Avenue Signalization Design. Work will include preparing the signalization design, plans, and specifications. Surveying of the area has not occurred. The City of Yakima reserves the right to retain the services of the successful firm(s) for any subsequent phases (R/W, CN) associated with this project. Project details can be found at the following weblink: www.yakimawa.gov/services/engineering/engineering/rfps-rfqs/ This design is intended to be completed in 2027. SOQs shall be limited to fifteen (15) pages not including the cover page and shall include the following information: key personnel, firm experience with PS&E, familiarity with City and WSDOT standards, signalized intersection design experience, project approach, and experience with local agency funded projects. Statement of Qualifications will be evaluated on a competitive basis using the above criteria. The City will score the received Statement of Qualifications and may conduct interviews. SOQs shall be received by 10:00 a.m., November 20th, by email to Dana Kallevig, City of Yakima Chief Engineer at Dana.kallevig@yakimawa.gov. The City of Yakima is seeking Statements of Qualifications from firms for professional engineering design and surveying, as needed, for the Longfibre Road and Washington Avenue signalization project. The selected firm will prepare the signalization design, plans, and specifications; surveying of the area has not yet occurred. The City may retain the successful firm for subsequent right-of-way and construction phases. The attached concept plans show a proposed traffic signal at the Longfibre Road and Washington Avenue intersection, including signal poles and mast arms, pedestrian signals and pushbuttons, vehicle signal heads, video detection, emergency vehicle preemption, and related equipment. Statements of Qualifications are limited to 15 pages, excluding the cover page, and must address key personnel, firm experience with plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E), familiarity with City and Washington State Department of Transportation standards, signalized intersection design experience, project approach, and experience with locally funded agency projects. Responses will be competitively evaluated, and interviews may be conducted. The design is intended to be completed in 2027.
