Description
Escambia County seeks a contractor to rehabilitate approximately 5,000 square feet of a waste transfer station tipping floor. The work includes saw-cutting and removing existing concrete as needed, shot-blasting and preparing the substrate, applying a compatible bonding agent or primer, and installing a manufactured heavy-duty cementitious topping at an average base thickness of approximately 2 inches. The system must meet the specified compressive-strength requirements and be suitable for heavy equipment and transfer-station traffic. The contractor must also install and restore control joints, cure the topping in accordance with the manufacturer's requirements, and leave the work area clean and ready for operations. Bids include a lump-sum base price and a separate unit price for areas requiring topping beyond 2 inches, subject to County approval. A 5% bid security is required. The bid package also requires the bid form, references, specified certifications and affidavits, business and licensing documentation as applicable, insurance evidence or a letter of insurability, a subcontractor list, and a W-9. The bid form and bid documents are submitted electronically, while a check used as bid security must be physically delivered before bid opening.
