Description
Washington County is soliciting electronic bids for a one-year requirements contract covering approximately 43 chemical line items used in swimming pools, drinking-water treatment, and wastewater treatment. Products include chlorine and hypochlorite, acids, caustic soda, ferric chloride, polymers, polyaluminum chloride, activated carbon, methanol, magnesium hydroxide, salts, gases, and other treatment chemicals. Bidders may submit prices for one or more items, with awards made separately by item. Quantities are estimated requirements rather than guaranteed minimums, and orders will be placed as needed. The scope includes bulk, mini-bulk, drum, tote, bag, pail, and cylinder deliveries to facilities operated by Washington County, the City of Hagerstown, the Town of Boonsboro, and other participating agencies. Addendum No. 3 confirms that sodium hypochlorite must be shipped in sealed 55-gallon drums with tamper-resistant seals, Aqua Ammonia substitutions are not acceptable, and the specified Shannon Chemical SLI-5250 poly-orthophosphate blend is required. Methanol pricing is based on the September 2026 Methanex Index with monthly adjustments. Certain products require delivery equipment, pumping into storage tanks, removal of empty containers or pallets, safety training, samples or product qualification testing, and hazardous-material safety documentation. Electronic bids must be submitted through the designated online bidding platform; fax, email, and other electronic submissions are not accepted. No bonds are required.
