Description
The Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation is soliciting proposals for archaeological consulting services supporting the rehabilitation of nine wetlands at four project sites along the Blue Ridge Parkway in Floyd and Grayson counties, Virginia. The selected consultant will conduct background research, define areas of potential effects, determine whether survey or construction monitoring is required, initiate consultation with the Virginia State Historic Preservation Office, prepare and obtain Archaeological Resources Protection Act permits, perform archaeological fieldwork, and collect and catalog artifacts if applicable. The consultant must manage coordination with the National Park Service and project partners, prepare site-specific documentation, and deliver comprehensive NPS-compliant reports and Section 106 closeout materials suitable for State and Tribal Historic Preservation Office review. Proposals are limited to 15 pages and must include a cover letter, company information, methodology and schedule, tiered cost proposal, capacity and key personnel, at least three similar projects completed within the past five years, and at least three recent professional references. The budget may not exceed $50,000.
