Description
Caltrans seeks up to two qualified title and escrow companies to provide on-call, as-needed services for transportation-related property acquisitions. Work includes preliminary title reports, title record searches, ownership statements, title policy updates, litigation guarantees, title insurance policies, escrow services, document recording, and related title and escrow services. The contractor must be licensed by the California Department of Insurance and provide title searches for parcels in the service area. Some searches may require in-person research at a county recorder’s office; subcontracting is prohibited. The agreement is structured as a five-year term, with new service requests placed during the first three years. The solicitation requires a completed bid proposal and certification documents, plus a copy of the required title and escrow license. Up to two awards may be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidders.
