Description
Colby Community College seeks a fiber-optic cabling solution connecting two new campus buildings to its network: an 80-bed dormitory and a maintenance shop. The work includes installing pathways and single-mode OS2 fiber from the main building distribution frames, with 48 strands split between two dormitory IDFs and 24 strands for the maintenance shop. The contractor must provide conduit, cable management, splice closures, termination hardware, splicing, and SC UPC terminations. The contractor must test and verify the links for 10GB connectivity, provide exported test results and attenuation documentation, and label both ends of each strand using labels approved by the College. The installation must support specified 10GbE and 40GbE standards and allow for future capacity increases. The proposal must include itemized pricing, product or service details, a project timeline, warranty information, exclusions if applicable, and proof of current general liability insurance. A performance and payment bond is required of the selected vendor if the project exceeds $100,000.
