Description
The Port of Port Arthur Navigation District of Jefferson County, Texas is soliciting sealed bids for construction of impressed-current cathodic protection systems at Berths 1 and 2. The work includes furnishing and installing three soil-side deep anode wells, three water-side linear anodes, six air-cooled rectifiers, galvanized rectifier racks and junction boxes, conduit and wiring, 12 cathodic protection test stations, structure connections and thermite welds, concrete and rebar associated with the anode wells, and related mobilization, demolition, testing, energization, tuning, commissioning, and reporting. The contractor must provide qualified cathodic-protection personnel, including a NACE-certified supervisor and an independent NACE-certified cathodic-protection specialist, and must demonstrate at least five years of marine cathodic-protection installation experience. The project requires coordination with ongoing warehouse construction and port operations, prevailing wages, TWIC compliance, insurance naming the Port as additional insured, a 5% bid bond, and performance and payment bonds each equal to 100% of the contract price. The stated contract price in the agreement is $10,808,466.00.
