Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is seeking capability information from firms able to design, fabricate, and deliver five replacement fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) Tainter gates for the Calcasieu River Saltwater Barrier. The anticipated requirement includes two gates in the base bid and three additional gates as an option. The gates must integrate with the existing structure and be interchangeable with the existing steel gates, including compatible bolted connections, seal locations, machinery lifting connections, weight and center-of-gravity characteristics, and installation requirements. Delivery will be by barge to the barrier and sector gate facility; installation will be performed by the government. Respondents must submit a tailored capabilities statement addressing organizational information, fabrication and field-assembly locations, site limitations, bonding capacity, design and fabrication capabilities, relevant projects, project-management resources, and any proposed subcontracting or teaming arrangements. The anticipated future procurement is a firm-fixed-price, two-phase design-build contract, potentially involving Davis-Bacon-covered labor.
