Trailside Zoo in Bear Mountain, NY is undergoing a renovation of its Reptile, Amphibian, and Fish building, a roughly 600-square-foot facility. The project involves the installation of 23 new custom tanks, associated Life Support Systems (LSS), and necessary tank racks. The selected vendor will be responsible for the design, fabrication, delivery, installation, and commissioning of these custom aquatic and semi-aquatic exhibit systems. This includes creating construction documents, fabricating tanks with specified materials that meet animal welfare and husbandry requirements, installing commercial-grade LSS, and providing a warranty of 2-5 years depending on the equipment. The project aims to enhance animal welfare, increase public engagement, and allow the zoo to display new species. The scope of work also includes dynamic tankscaping to represent the natural habitats of the Hudson Valley. The vendor must comply with New York State prevailing wage requirements and provide a director or principal-level staff person as the project manager. Off-site fabrication, shipping, and delivery costs must be included in the pricing. The anticipated timeline for project completion is eight months, starting in July 2026 and concluding by February 2027.
