Description
Appomattox County is soliciting proposals for labor, vehicles, containers, equipment, supervision, and related services to collect and haul solid waste and recyclable materials. The scope includes seven residential convenience centers, county government locations, and public schools; container rental, delivery, replacement, maintenance, repair, and on-call hauling services are also required. Waste must be transported to designated landfills or waste facilities, and recyclable materials must be delivered to designated recycling destinations. The contractor must maintain collection capacity, provide Sunday and holiday service when necessary, support emergency weather operations, submit weight tickets and monthly reports, and provide qualified drivers, vehicles, supervisors, and equipment. The initial contract term is two years beginning November 1, 2026, with up to three additional one-year renewals, for a maximum term ending on or before October 31, 2030. Proposals must include the required forms, company and equipment descriptions, a comprehensive technical narrative, at least three similar customer references, pricing sheets, mobilization information, and proposed equipment delivery, fuel-adjustment, maintenance, subcontractor, and emergency-weather information. A performance bond equal to the negotiated estimated annual cost is required during the contract term. Required insurance includes workers' compensation, commercial general liability, automobile liability, professional errors and omissions, and umbrella liability coverage, with specified limits and additional-insured requirements.
