Description
The City of Virginia Beach is soliciting an annual renewable indefinite-quantity construction contract for mechanical dredging of City-maintained navigable waterways, channels, neighborhood Special Service District channels, and individual access basins. The work includes mobilization and demobilization; mechanical excavation; transportation by barges or scows; transfer into sealed-bed dump trucks; hauling and disposal of dredged material at City-furnished dredged-material management areas; management and restoration of transfer and disposal facilities; and removal of underwater debris. The scope also includes repair, replacement, relocation, and installation of daymarks, dayboards, and buoys. Hydraulic dredging is not permitted. The initial contract limit is $4,000,000 per one-year term, with up to four optional one-year renewals. Bidders must submit sealed paper bids, and the solicitation requires bid security, a signed bid proposal/contract, applicable SWaM participation documentation, and other bid forms and certifications identified in the project manual.
