Description
Madison County is requesting statements of qualifications from a professional civil engineering firm to provide planning, engineering design, permitting, construction drawings, bidding assistance, project oversight, inspections, construction administration, and project closeout for wastewater infrastructure improvements serving the Town of Mars Hill. The work will be funded through North Carolina Clean Water and Drinking Water Reserve appropriations and must comply with applicable State procurement requirements. The project includes upgrades or replacement of the wastewater treatment plant aeration system, a new influent mechanical bar screen and screening compactor/washer, replacement of the influent Parshall flume, yard-pipe replacements and hydraulic improvements, concrete repairs to the aeration basin, replacement and relocation of the Carl Eller Road pump station, and extension of the gravity wastewater line along Highway 213 toward Bailey Gap. The selected firm must address qualifications, similar projects, proposed work plan, subcontractors, legal status, references, and a standard proposed contract.
