Description
The City of Gallup is soliciting bids for the complete asbestos abatement, demolition, removal, and off-site disposal of two vacant single-family dwellings at 709 B and C S. 6th Street. Unit B is approximately 1,296 square feet and was partially damaged by fire; Unit C is approximately 888 square feet. The third dwelling on the property, Unit D, must remain intact. The contractor must use a City-approved, certified asbestos/lead remediation firm; remove regulated asbestos-containing materials in accordance with applicable regulations; disconnect or cap utilities; obtain required permits and approvals; provide labor, equipment, materials, traffic and dust controls, and site security; remove foundations, slabs, footings, fencing, rubbish, and debris; and dispose of waste at an approved facility. The site must be backfilled, compacted to at least 90 percent, graded, and restored. The contractor must submit work plans, abatement reports, clearances, disposal receipts, and a demolition completion certificate. Work must begin within 14 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed, demolition must be completed within 30 calendar days after the start date, and final site restoration must be completed within seven calendar days thereafter. A five percent bid bond is required, and performance and payment bonds each equal to 100 percent of the contract amount are required after award.
