Description
The Town of Yorktown is soliciting bids for an exclusive license to provide towing and emergency repair services for calls generated by the Yorktown Police Department. The licensee must provide 24-hour, seven-day service, respond within 30 minutes, handle abandoned and disabled vehicles, provide minor roadside repairs, remove debris, accept a major interbank credit card, and tow Town vehicles and the Town's mobile stage under specified conditions. The contractor must operate a New York State-registered motor vehicle repair shop; maintain at least three suitable radio-equipped tow vehicles, including one flatbed; provide secure storage for at least 30 automobiles and heated indoor storage for at least five Yorktown Highway Department dump trucks; and be capable of towing a Class D heavy-duty 50-ton vehicle. The license term is September 1, 2026, through August 31, 2027, with two optional 12-month extensions. Bidders must submit a bid deposit equal to 25% of the bid amount, and the Town has established a minimum acceptable bid of $100,000.
