The City of Tybee Island is soliciting bids for the installation of approximately 1,000 linear feet of eight-foot-high commercial-grade chain-link fencing for small and large dog parks at Solomon Park. The work includes four five-foot-wide walk gates, two 12-foot-wide maintenance gates, terminal and line posts, top, mid, and bottom rails, tension wire, hardware, concrete footings, and privacy slats covering approximately 1,000 linear feet around both parks to a height of four feet. The updated bid sheet requires 155 line posts and 20 hinges. Heavy-duty posts with a 0.154-inch wall thickness are required. Galvanized or black vinyl/polymer-coated fencing is acceptable, and privacy slats must be standard green or black. All gates must use lockable slide-bolt latches. The City will obtain and pay for the fence permit and will lay out the dog-park perimeter. The contractor must provide all labor, equipment, and materials. The updated addendum and bid documents must be acknowledged and included with the bid. The project is a one-time contract, with completion required within 90 days after the notice of award; the notice to proceed will follow the pre-construction meeting. A five-percent bid bond is required, and the selected contractor must later provide 100-percent performance and payment bonds. The contractor must provide the required bid forms, affidavits, certifications, vendor information, W-9, occupational tax certificate, certificate of insurance, and bid bond.
