Description
The County of Erie seeks six fabricated recreation units for the Erie County Prison’s Restricted Housing Unit. The units must include secure steel framing and woven-rod barriers, additional stainless-steel mesh on common walls, detention-grade doors and hardware, and durable finishes. The contractor must provide fabrication and delivery; a separate contractor will perform installation. Units must be delivered in sections that fit through the facility’s hallways and doors, with shipping limited to a 100-mile radius of the prison. The contractor must provide project-specific shop drawings, product and installation documentation, and technical support to the installation contractor. The proposal must include a total price, a company history and description, and five references for similar correctional projects. The vendor must demonstrate experience in correctional detention fabrication, including at least five projects with specifications. A professional engineer must review the design for applicable structural, wind, and snow loads. The solicitation also requires a notarized non-collusion affidavit and a bid bond; a performance bond is required from the successful vendor at contract execution.
