Description
The State of California Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) is seeking comprehensive office moving services. These services include packing, moving, transportation, unpacking, and management of office furniture, equipment, and related supplies. The scope of work also encompasses disassembly and reassembly of modular furniture, including reconfiguration, moves, adds, and changes. All sensitive equipment, such as electrical items and computers, must be pad-wrapped. The contractor will also be responsible for the storage of property, removal of surplus property, and disposal of packing materials, rubbish, and debris from government premises as directed. Hazardous materials removal is excluded. Bids will be based on contractor rates, with the bid price serving as a "not to exceed" amount. Additional costs such as parking fees, bridge tolls, and other moving-related expenses will be on a pass-through basis with supporting documentation. For moves exceeding 100 miles, mileage rates will apply with prior DOR approval; otherwise, hourly rates will be used. The contract requires a move coordinator to manage workers and communication with the DOR. The DOR will provide an inventory of items to be moved, noting any items of extraordinary value or requiring special handling. The contractor must provide appropriate vehicles and ensure they are well-maintained and compliant with all laws. Claims for loss or damage must be filed within nine months, with the contractor acknowledging claims within thirty days and committing to action within sixty days. Storage-in-transit services may be requested with advance notice and will incur separate charges.
