Description
The program funds collaborative basic research by a U.S. investigator and a Taiwan investigator in materials and nanostructures. Research areas include AI-driven materials discovery; materials and nanostructures for energy-efficient electronic, photonic, and quantum information technologies; and quantum geometry in solids. Proposals should describe a technically integrated collaboration and experimentally testable research where relevant. The opportunity has a pre-proposal stage followed by an invitation-only full-proposal stage. Full proposals require a technical narrative of no more than eight pages, with a detailed budget and supporting application materials. Awards are research grants of up to $150,000 per year for three years; the solicitation also notes possible extensions to five years.
