Description
Union County, New Jersey, is requesting proposals from qualified individuals and law firms to provide workers' compensation defense counsel and related specialized legal services. The scope includes filing answers to claim petitions, appearing in workers' compensation court, arranging medical examinations, reviewing medical reports, handling trials and appeals, attending meetings, and representing county officials and members of the Union County Insurance Fund Commission as needed. Proposers must be licensed to practice law in New Jersey and demonstrate at least 10 years of workers' compensation defense experience serving Union County or other governmental entities. The technical proposal must address personnel qualifications, relevant governmental and workers' compensation expertise, litigation results, similar engagements and references, conflicts and professional standing, and compliance with the County's professional services contract. Compensation is stated as $155 per hour for new assigned files, with reimbursement limited to specified expenses that are actually incurred and, where applicable, pre-approved.
