Description
The project involves abrasive surface preparation and painting of the interior and exterior of an existing 1.5-million-gallon welded-steel water storage tank. Work also includes concrete foundation and joint repairs and incidental weld repairs. The contractor must coordinate its work with the separate tank-metals contractor and accommodate inspections by a retained third-party paint inspector. The bid requires a 10% bid guarantee, submitted as either a bid bond or certified check. The successful contractor must provide 100% performance and payment bonds and a 10% maintenance bond. The contract specifies a 150-day duration from Notice to Proceed through substantial completion. The project is subject to applicable American-made materials requirements, including Build America, Buy America and American Iron and Steel provisions.
