The New York State Office for People With Developmental Disabilities is soliciting proposals for fire alarm and fire sprinkler inspection, testing, maintenance, remedial repairs, emergency service calls, and repairs at OPWDD sites statewide. The procurement is divided into four lots: New York City and Long Island fire alarm, the rest of New York State fire alarm, New York City and Long Island fire sprinkler, and the rest of New York State fire sprinkler. Bidders may propose on one or more lots, with one contract intended for each lot. Fire alarm work must comply with NFPA 72 and includes quarterly testing of initiating devices, scheduled inspections, preventative maintenance, repairs, emergency response, reporting, and inventory documentation. Fire sprinkler work must comply with NFPA 25 and includes inspection and testing of water-based fire protection systems, including sprinkler systems, tanks, fire pumps, hydrants, backflow preventers, three- and five-year testing, obstruction investigations, repairs, and emergency services. Contractors must provide 24/7 emergency availability and generally respond within two hours. Minimum qualifications include at least five years in business, applicable alarm licensing for fire alarm lots, NFPA-related qualifications, sufficient staffing and resources, and at least five years of experience with similar equipment. The anticipated contract term is March 1, 2027, through February 28, 2032.
