Description
The USDA Agricultural Research Service seeks one self-propelled forage plot harvester with a cabin for harvesting forage plants, conveying crops to an onboard weighing hopper, weighing each plot, and emptying material to either side. The machine must include a double-knife cutter bar, conveyor system, reel, adjustable track width, hydrostatic four-wheel drive, diesel engine, weighing hopper, electronic scale, operator controls, and safety equipment. The harvester must also provide mandatory sample handling and analysis capabilities, including a sample chopper, sample conveyor, separate sample balance, online dual-beam diode-array near-infrared spectrometer, process software, two years of calibration service, and a hydraulically driven piston module for sample presentation. The purchase is for one commercial product on a brand-name-or-equal basis, with delivery required within 90 days after award. Quotes must include pricing for the complete item and sufficient descriptive documentation to demonstrate compliance with all salient characteristics.
