Description
Bastrop County is soliciting sealed bids for drainage improvements on Cardinal Drive at the Alum Creek Tributary. The work includes erosion-control measures; temporary traffic control, access, or detours; demolition of two existing 48-inch corrugated-metal-pipe culverts and roadway; grading; installation of two 8-foot-by-5-foot rigid concrete box culverts with headwalls; pavement repair; riprap; and stabilization of the project site. The project area is within federally endangered Houston Toad habitat, requiring environmental avoidance measures, a County-provided biological monitor, and worker training before construction. The bid is a lump-sum construction contract with a required cost breakdown. Bidders must account for insurance and bonds, comply with Davis-Bacon Heavy wage rates, provide proof of insurance capability, and submit the required certifications, qualifications statement, opportunity plan, non-collusion affidavit, civil-rights and nondiscrimination certifications, lobbying certification, and signed addenda. E-Verify and active SAM.gov registration are required for the awarded contractor; the contractor must also provide a demolition plan for approval before demolition work begins.
