Description
The Calgary Board of Education is soliciting a prime mechanical contractor to replace the existing hydronic boiler system at Dr. J.K. Mulloy School. The work includes removing the existing boiler, pumps, flue, piping, controls, and related equipment; supplying and installing two high-efficiency condensing natural-gas boilers, primary pumps, a hydraulic separator, valves, piping, gas regulators, flues, condensate neutralization, and a gas-fired unit heater. The contractor must also complete associated plumbing, sanitary, concrete, flooring, painting, roofing, electrical, demolition, testing, balancing, commissioning, and restoration work. The new equipment and controls must integrate with the existing Ainsworth/ESC Controls building management system. The contractor is responsible for coordination, permits, safety and hazardous-material procedures, shop drawings, equipment submittals, commissioning, training, closeout documentation, and maintaining heating service during construction. The boiler plant must be fully operational by September 16, 2027; the bid documents also identify an anticipated project start date of November 4, 2026 and an anticipated completion date of September 30, 2027. The bid requires a stipulated-price submission with bid security, consent of surety, insurance evidence, workers’ compensation clearance, and valid COR, SECOR, or TLC documentation.
