Description
The New York State Unified Court System, on behalf of the Office for Justice Initiatives, is soliciting proposals from not-for-profit legal service providers to address civil legal needs of New Yorkers with incomes at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. Proposed services may include direct representation, advice and counsel, housing and family-law assistance, domestic-violence services, access to health care and education, subsistence-income matters, information and referral, assistance with forms, pro bono attorney mobilization, mediation and other alternative dispute resolution, technology-enabled access, and related initiatives. Funding is structured as general operating support for administration, staffing, facilities, infrastructure, and technology. Multiple awards are anticipated across all New York counties, with up to $176.5 million available for the initial annual period. Applicants must submit the prescribed proposal, budget, workload projection, assurance and conflict-of-interest disclosure, checklist, responsibility documentation, required insurance evidence, tax-exempt documentation, and other listed certifications and forms. The contract term is five years, with an initial one-month startup period followed by annual budget periods.
