Description
RECYC-QUEBEC is seeking a transportation contractor to move end-of-life tires from designated shipping processing centers to receiving processing centers. The selected carrier must keep four open trailers at Techno-Pneu Inc., collect full trailers within one business day after notification, transport tires to destinations designated by RECYC-QUEBEC, weigh loaded and empty shipments at receiving centers, and unload the tires when required. The carrier must also comply with receiving instructions and pay $50 per trailer movement when the shipping center moves a trailer beyond the five-hour notice period, subject to a maximum of one charge per trailer. Deliveries must be separated into three categories: small and automobile/light-truck/SUV tires meeting specified rim and overall-diameter limits; commercial truck tires within specified dimensions; and forklift tires with an overall diameter of no more than 123.19 cm. The contractor may also be required to provide an employee at the shipping center for at least two hours per day to support operations. The estimated contract period is 36 months.
