Description
Montana State University’s Department of Physics is considering a sole-source purchase of a near-infrared spectroscopy system from Teledyne Princeton Instruments. The system must include a two-dimensional scientific detector with at least 1,340 spectral pixels by 400 spatial pixels, imaging and vertically binned spectroscopy capabilities, specified pixel dimensions and collection area, read noise no greater than 3 electrons per pixel, dark current no greater than 0.002 electrons per pixel per second at the required operating temperature, and quantum efficiency of at least 90% at 900 nm and 75% at 1,000 nm. The system must provide thermoelectric cooling without liquid-nitrogen refilling, at least 16-bit digitization, a pixel full-well capacity of at least 128,000 electrons, selectable regions of interest, on-chip vertical binning, mechanical and optical compatibility with the existing Princeton HRS-500 spectrometer, and compatibility with the existing LightField software workflow. Potential equivalent suppliers must submit a thorough written description explaining how their product or service meets all requirements through the eMACS procurement system; this is not a request for competitive proposals.
