Description
The contractor will design, engineer, manufacture, assemble, test, deliver, install, and commission photon delivery system equipment for the Quantitative Cellular Tomography beamlines at the National Synchrotron Light Source II. The equipment supports X-ray beam delivery to experimental endstations and includes beamline optical components, monochromators, mirrors, slits, masks, collimators, stops, vacuum components, motion and control components, diagnostic units, and related tools, fixtures, spares, and test equipment. The scope includes preliminary and final design reviews; detailed drawings, models, calculations, ray tracing, thermal and vibration analyses, vacuum-system design, controls and software documentation, manufacturing and inspection planning, factory and on-site acceptance testing, installation, alignment, commissioning without X-rays, operator training, quality assurance, safety documentation, packaging, end-item documentation, and a two-year warranty. The draft schedule places the preliminary design review three months after award, final design review six months after award, factory acceptance testing 17 months after award, delivery 18 months after award, installation completion 19 months after award, and commissioning completion 20 months after award.
