Description
Los Alamos County seeks an independent employee benefits consultant to support the administration, evaluation, and strategic management of its employee benefit programs. The scope includes plan design and documentation reviews; utilization, claims, financial, funding, reserve, and cost analyses; carrier, pharmacy benefit manager, and vendor oversight; regulatory and compliance guidance; administrative and human resources support; employee communications; and support for the County’s Health Insurance Committee and Plan Sponsor. The consultant must have public-sector benefits consulting experience for employers with at least 500 employees and must be independent of insurance carriers, third-party administrators, and provider networks. Required deliverables include quarterly and annual reports, regulatory updates, technical bulletins, presentations, benefits-related procurement support, and sample reports and technical bulletins included with the proposal. The County currently has approximately 700 eligible active employees and anticipates a contract effective January 1, 2027, with a term of up to seven years.
