Description
Ada County Highway District is soliciting bids for as-needed traffic control services at various job sites throughout Ada County during the 2027 period of performance. The scope includes setup and management of temporary traffic-control zones; provision and installation of signs, cones, barrels, barricades, arrow boards, reader boards, light towers, ADA walls, and temporary ADA ramps; certified flaggers and traffic-control supervisors; tabbing for chip-seal operations; and related support for chip and fog sealing, paving, shouldering, tree trimming, and miscellaneous roadwork. Work may include mobile operations and temporary daytime roadway closures. The contractor must provide qualified and trained personnel, maintain required high-visibility PPE, comply with current MUTCD standards, and support approximately 300 days of operations, with peak requirements of up to 30 flaggers at one maintenance location and 20 at another. Work is requested on an as-needed basis with at least 48 hours' notice for larger projects and 24 hours' notice for smaller projects. The bid schedule includes labor, equipment, traffic-control devices, and temporary traffic-control plans. Multiple contracts may be awarded, and the lowest responsive bidder may be bypassed for a particular request if unable to provide the required service. Insurance is required, including statutory workers' compensation, $1,000,000 employer's liability, $2,000,000 commercial general liability, and $2,000,000 automobile liability, with the highway district named as an additional insured.
