Description
The Florida Department of Transportation intends to enter into a single-source contract with Central Mine Equipment Company for a $574,195 boring and subsurface exploration drill machine. The equipment will be used for soil sampling, foundation testing, monitoring well installation, and subsurface exploration work. The drill machine must perform auger borings in unconsolidated formations using hollow-stem augers; support Shelby tube or continuous tube sampling and standard penetration testing; and perform coring or rotary drilling applications. The notice states that Central Mine Equipment Company is the sole manufacturer of a rig meeting the Department's specifications.
