Description
The City seeks a contractor to supply rock salt containing at least 95% sodium chloride and calcium magnesium acetate (CMA) deicer. The CMA must be chloride-free and formulated at an optimum 3:7 calcium-to-magnesium molecular ratio. It may be supplied as solid spherical or granular pellets, either pure or blended with other agents, in standard 50-pound moisture-proof plastic bags. Deliveries of the required quantities are scheduled during October and no later than November 15 each contract year, unless otherwise requested by Hartford Public Schools. Delivery locations include Hartford Public Schools sites and may also include the Department of Public Works and Hartford Public Safety Complex. The response requires electronic pricing and response forms; the solicitation also calls for a 10% bid bond or qualifying check. The general instructions describe a one-year contract with up to three one-year extensions.
