Description
The City of Billings is soliciting bids for winter response traction material for its Street and Traffic Department. The required material must consist of 35% 3/8-inch chips, 55% crushed fines, and 10% salt. Orders will generally be placed in lots of approximately 330 tons, with material available for pickup by City trucks or the City's hired contractor during regular business hours. Orders must be available within 10 business days after receipt. The contractor may be required to store one lot for up to 30 days after it is ready for pickup, and must make material available in all temperatures and weather conditions. If salt deliveries are delayed, the City may request salt-free material within three business days, with the completed mixture available within two business days after salt arrives. Pricing is requested for each of three years; the contract term is one year with two optional one-year extensions by mutual agreement.
