The U.S. Geological Survey is seeking an eligible partner in the Hawaii-Pacific Islands Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit to conduct research and applied management of brown treesnakes in Guam and the broader Pacific Islands. Work includes maintaining and training a deployable rapid-response team; detecting, radio-tracking, capturing, and removing snakes; evaluating genetic, biological, and other novel control tools; supporting biosecurity and biosurveillance; conducting adaptive management for native-species recovery; and examining effects on Guam residents and electrical infrastructure. The recipient must submit a five-year proposal covering technical methods, objectives, geographic scope, schedule, products and dissemination, data management, staffing, past performance, and a detailed budget for all five budget years. Required application materials include a technical narrative, budget narrative, SF-424A, Data Management Plan, biographical sketches for senior/key personnel, current and pending support disclosures, and a one-page Project Abstract Summary. Estimated total funding is $2,536,979, with approximately $376,229 available for Budget Year 1; subsequent funding depends on satisfactory progress and fund availability.
